ACENORCA - D.O. Gata-Hurdes
The feature of the area protected by this denomination is typical of sierra, corresponding to the southerly slopes of Cordillera Central. It covers part of the sierras of Gredos, Béjar, Peña de Francia and Gata, and the rocky parts with smooth profiles, of piedmont, between the sheer slopes of Gredos and the trough of the River Tiétar, and to the south the slate system of the Hurdes and the Sierra de Gata.
The virgin olive oils made under the "Gata-Hurdes" Denomination of Origen are a yellow-greenish colour with great stability and purity. The Oil form this Denomination of Origen can only be virgin olive without blends.
The characteristics of the mono-varietal oil are:
- Aromatic: Acidity to 0,5º maximum.
- Fruity, aromatic, sweet taste.
